Application for Virtual Credit Card

Introduction

Virtual Credit Cards are similar to Credit Cards, but without a physical card. For availing a virtual credit card, a customer must have a normal (physical) card account with the bank. The virtual credit cards are used only for internet transactions, they cannot be used in shopping establishments. The feature of virtual credit card is similar to that of an add-on card, but without a physical card.

Key features of virtual credit card are:

  • Customers can have one or more Virtual Credit Cards for each primary Credit Cards they hold.

  • Credit limit of Virtual Cards cannot be greater than the credit limits of the primary cards.

  • Like Add-on Cards, the credit limit of the Virtual Cards will be consumed from the limit of the primary cards.

  • No separate statement will be generated for Virtual Cards. The transactions of Virtual Cards will be included in the statement of the primary card only.

  • The additional security validation required by the issuer of the card (VISA/MasterCard) will not be applicable for payments made through Virtual Cards.

  • Customer can stop/revoke a virtual credit card.

  • Customer can request for limit increase of Virtual Cards

  • Request for a Virtual Card is an offline service request, which will have to be processed manually by a Bank User.

What you can do

The table below provides a brief description of the data that should be entered on the screen and the functions you can perform:

Field

Description

Primary Card Number

Select the card number from the drop-down list. It is mandatory to select one of the credit cards from the drop-down list.

Note:

You will get the list of physical credit cards you are maintaining with the bank.

Applicant’s Mobile Number

the mobile number.

Note:

  • The registered mobile number will get fetched from the primary card, however the user will get an option to change the mobile number.

  • If the mobile number entered is not numeric, then the error message “Please specify a valid Mobile Number” is displayed.

Applicant’s Email ID

Type the email ID.

Note:

  • The registered email ID will get fetched from the primary card, however the user will get an option to change the same.

  • If the email ID entered is not in standard format, then the error message “Invalid Email ID” is displayed.

Limit Required

Type the limit to be assigned to the virtual card. This limit must be less than the primary credit card limit.

Note:

If the user enters a limit more than the primary card limit, then the error message displayed is, “The limit of your Primary card is <AMOUNT>. The limit of the Virtual Card should be less than this”.
